Bringing the World of Music to Your Doorstep
Part of MB Music Coalition’s mission is to foster lasting engagement with the musical arts by providing students with enriching experiences that explore the intersection of music education and the larger role of music in the world. We endeavor to do this by offering a carefully curated series of events, each designed to explore a different aspect of music in our lives.
Behind the Conductor’s Baton – Student-led Interviews of MB’s Award Winning Music Faculty
Modeled after the popular “Inside the Actor’s Studio” show, this event series allows students to get to know the Music Program faculty in a relaxed and congenial environment. Featuring student-led interviews and student submitted questions, the evening will focus on the role music has played in the lives of those who teach the craft. Click HERE to find out more.
Education Meets the Masters
This event focuses on connecting students with the professional world of music that exists outside the school experience. Featuring career musicians, professionals in the music industry, and topics selected by the students, Education Meets the Masters offers students an expanded view of the music industry, and a glimpse at how to pursue music making beyond high school. The Tri-M Music Honor Society Welcome Reception
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), designed to provide leadership and service opportunities to students, and recognize them for their achievements in music. The MB Music Coalition is proud to host a Welcome Reception for Mira Costa’s Tri-M membership each year. Due to challenges relating to Covid, the 2020-21 school year welcome reception will take place later than usual – on January 22nd, 2021. Student Members will receive an invitation to the event at the email address they provided to Chapter leadership.
Quarter Notes – Coming in the Fall of 2021
